Now a little bit about this blog… We’ve both been blogging since 2012 (MJ starting before Hungryman), but we decided to “join forces” and combine our strengths to produce something even better. It’s basically a place where one can find delicious and healthy recipes, reviews on Austin eateries, and some random life stuff squeezed in here and there. All the cooking, sharing recipes, and food photography are done by me, MJ.
Hungryman, my husband, is the restaurant critic. He doesn’t have any formal culinary training, but finds joy in eating and sharing his experiences from a layman’s perspective. Eating out is considered a “treat” for us and takes place once or twice a week, usually on the weekends. Why so few outings? It basically comes down to three reasons – 1) MJ loves to cook, 2) it’s easier on the wallet, and most importantly, 3) it’s better for healthful living. A win-win-win situation! ;). As the occasions are limited, we try to hit a new restaurant each week.
So why exactly do we blog? It motivates us to experiment more in the kitchen as well as eat out at restaurants, even if it involves sitting through Austin traffic. But above all, it draws us closer together as a couple. The collaborative effort helps to keep things fun and exciting in our marriage and seeing the fruit of our labor is quite rewarding.
That just about wraps up this “About” page. If you have any questions, please free to contact us. We would love to hear from you.
