Easy Yogurt Ideas for Babies

Yogurt bowls are easy to make and a great way to make every bite count for babies and toddlers. Feel free to add whatever add-ins you wish!

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup (2 ounces) Greek or regular plain, full-fat yogurt

Mix-ins (choose one or two)

  • 1 teaspoon peanut/nut/seed butter
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped, grated, or mashed, pureed vegetables (see note)
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped, grated, mashed, pureed fruits
  • 2 tablespoons cooked oatmeal, lentils, or quinoa
  • 1 teaspoon seeds (hemp, ground flax, chia)
  • pinch of spices (e.g. cinnamon, curry powder, cumin, ginger, garlic)

Instructions

  • Combine yogurt with mix-in(s) of choice.

Here are my favorite vegetables and fruits to add:
  • Finely chopped vegetables: broccoli, zucchini, bell peppers, carrots, beets
  • Mashed sweet potatoes, butternut squash
  • Canned pumpkin puree
  • Avocado
  • Finely chopped or pureed fruits: banana, mango, pears, peaches, apples, berries
Combinations to try:
  1. ¼ cup yogurt + 1 tablespoon finely chopped cooked beets
  2. ¼ cup yogurt + 1 tablespoon finely chopped broccoli + 1 teaspoon smooth peanut butter 
  3. ¼ cup yogurt + 1 tablespoons pumpkin puree + 2 tablespoons oatmeal
