Whisk together yogurt and egg, spread on top of toast with various toppings, and you've got yogurt toast - an easy and healthy breakfast or snack for the whole family!
Fresh fruits, nuts or seeds, shredded coconut, chocolate chips - for sweet toast
Grated vegetables, cheese, protein (like chicken, salmon) - for savory toast
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the yogurt, egg, and any additional add-ins of choice until smooth.
Place bread slices on a lined baking sheet. Using your hand or the back of a spoon, make a dent in the center of each slice of bread. Be careful not to tear and leave about ½ inch on all sides.
Spoon the custard filling on top and add toppings of your choice.
Bake in the regular oven or the toaster oven until the custard the sets and the bread gets nice and toasty, about 10-12 minutes.
Notes
What I like to do is divide the custard mixture into three and add different toppings to each as shown here. It doesn't take much effort and it's always fun to try them all with my kids.
Transfer any leftover toasts to a airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the over or air fryer until warm and toasty.
