Bananas and your favorite chocolate, yogurt, and toppings are all you need to make these homemade banana popsicles! They are healthy, easy, and so fun to eat for babies, kids, and adults alike.
Cut the bananas in half. Insert popsicle sticks into the flat bottom of each banana. Be sure you leave enough for your “handle."
Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and freeze for at least 3 hours.
Right before you take the bananas out of the freezer, prepare your coating and topping(s).
Chocolate coating
In a wide-mouth half pint mason jar or tall glass, add chocolate and coconut oil, if using. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until melted and smooth. Alternatively, you can use the double boiler method.
Dip the bananas one at a time into the melted chocolate. Immediately roll or sprinkle with nuts or topping(s) of choice. Place back on the baking sheet and pop into the freezer for at least 10 minutes, until completely set.
Yogurt coating
Add yogurt into a wide bowl. Using a spoon, cover each banana in yogurt. It will be a bit tricky but don't go for perfection! Place back on the baking sheet and pop into the freezer for at least 30 minutes, until completely set.
Notes
Add your toppings immediately, especially if using melted chocolate as they will firm up super fast on a frozen banana. Otherwise, your toppings will not stick.
