Hi guys! The Hungryman and I have been here in Korea for about a week now, and we’ve definitely been keeping ourselves busy. The 14 hour flight wasn’t as bad as I had remembered. Probably because I got to watch 5+ movies! The Lego Movie was pretty awesome and so was The Monuments Men (note to self: add to our collection).

We had been staying at a hotel in Seoul (my parents wanted us to be closer to the hospital we were visiting), and we just arrived in Busan (the second largest city, about a 5-hour drive away from Seoul) today.

Because we wanted to share our adventure with you guys, we the Hungryman put together our very first short video. Ta-da! Considering it’s his first time dabbling in video production, I couldn’t be more proud of him! The good news is he’s really enjoying the whole learning and experimenting process. That means more videos to come in the future ;). Although I must say, we do feel a lil vulnerable putting ourselves out there. Oh wells, here goes nothing!

This video shows what we were up to our first few days here – just a lot of walking, shopping, and eating. We plan on doing more touristy things in the days to come. Hope you enjoy! Also follow us on Instagram for more current and frequent updates.

  1. I wish I could be shopping and EATING with you guys, everything looks so yummy!! I have so many questions about what all the food was and how it tasted…poop bread? 🙂 It is so wonderful to see Korea through your eyes/lens, great job on the video, Tim! Thinking of you, Min, and hoping that everything is going well…you are in my prayers, friend!

    1. Us too!! Wish you and your family were here with us! The poop bread was basically sweet red bean paste filled bread shaped like..you guessed it..poop ;). Thanks for your thoughts and prayers! I have much to share with you. I was feeling a bit disappointed but being here is lifting my spirits. TTYS!

  2. Let me be a bit juvenile here and say, yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy I am sooooo glad you’re posting about your Korea trip!!!! I seriously think Tim did a great job with the video, ESP. since he’s not experienced. All that food is makin’ me hangry and I’ve been crazy patbingsoo….but it’s kinda pricey, hahaha. I can’t wait to see more videos and updates, guys. Also, how in the world do you piece together separately filmed clips into ONE??? I’ve been meaning to do fun/life videos but I’ve got no idea on how to edit in general. Anyway, so glad you guys got some fun and relaxing time with the family~I’m sure Tim’s mom needed it especially. 🙂

    1. Right? I’m so proud of him! He just googled everything and experimented on his own. You know, patbingsoo has gotten a lot more expensive here as well. It’s about $12.. but then again, the servings are massive. As far as piecing together film clips goes, iMovie is a great place to start (if you have a Mac) or so I have been told. Tim’s mom is def having a great time..although sitting around doing nothing seems to be a challenge for her.

  3. how fun is this….i would love more videos so i can live vicariously through you.

    1. Thanks! Tim is working diligently on the next video ;). Nothing beats being here in person though.

  4. Such a fun video Min! I’ve never been to Korea, but my parents went a few years ago and had a wonderful time. I have to say that I got very hungry watching all the delicious food you were eating 🙂 Have a wonderful trip and I look forward to lots of photos on Instagram!

    1. That’s so awesome that your parents visited here. Do you know what parts they explored? It’s such a small country but so much to see. Hope you will be able to visit one of these days ;).

  5. Love the video! Remember that time we met at a hotel? (:

I always think different countries will look different than the United States, but they don’t. Thanks for taking us along on your vacation! Enjoy the rest of your time!

    1. Of course! How could I forget, roomie ;). Seoul can def resemble NYC or some of the other big cities on the east coast, but it def has a unique vibe when you’re here in person. Hopefully, you will see a glimpse of that in the upcoming videos!

  6. Love the video, Min! I especially love all the food shots. That bakery you went to looked incredible! I can’t wait to see more pictures. Enjoy the time with your family!

    1. Thanks, Ashley! The bakery is called “Paris Baguette” and it’s a huge chain bakery here. We’ve been finding a lot of unique bakeries and carb loading haha.

  7. Love these travel posts! Keep them coming! Me and the hubs watched the Lego movie last week too and loved it. 🙂 I’ll be following along on the IG posts too. So much pretty food!

    1. Tim’s working on the second video so be on the lookout ;). Seriously! That movie is so so good. I laughed so hard on the plane.

  8. I loved watching your video! I haven’t had an opportunity to do very much traveling yet, so I found it very interesting. Hopefully I’ll be able to go there one day. The food there looks amazing. 🙂

  9. So fun to see the video and pics on IG! I smell some cooking videos on your blog in the future 🙂 Hey, I was also so sorry to read about your father’s passing, too – I’m sure it’s surreal at times. I’m glad you have family and friends around you 🙂

    1. Yup! Cooking videos are def in the future ;). Thank you for your condolences. It def helps to have loved ones around.
