Good morning, everyone! A cold front finally came in yesterday, and it’s “starting” to feel like fall! Yup..gotta take advantage of it before it starts getting warm and humid again…very soon… Come on out blazers, scarves, and FALL!
On Saturday, the hubby and I drove down to Houston to spend time with my family. My brother just came back from Korea recently, and my mom will be going later this week. And of course, I needed wanted to see my irresistibly adorable nephew, Noah. Oh…and my sister, I suppose ;).
Tim and I left first thing in the morning. Since we had to come back that same evening, I offered to drive on our way down. He’s not a morning person, but I am. However, my offer was quickly rejected. I still can’t figure out if it’s bc he’s trying to be a gentleman or he’s just terrified of my driving. I want to say it’s the latter. In any case, I didn’t complain ;)..and off we went…
Kona behaved very well! It doesn’t mean he enjoyed the ride though…

I tricked my family into thinking that we had overslept and weren’t going to make it, so when we showed up at the door, my mom just came out running so excited to see us! I know it’s a cruel thing to do, but don’t you just love reactions such as those? I think I shall continue…
We said hello to everyone, but this little guy, who’s 7 mo. old btw, got the most attention! Can you blame me?

Noah was quite smitten with Kona. At first, he was intimidated by this black 4-legged creature next to him. “What are you?” Then Noah got brave..”May I touch you? Ok, here I go…ahh..thank you, you’re my friend.”

As you will quickly see (if you haven’t caught on already), our day consisted of playing with Noah and going out to eat.
Let’s take a break, although it’s so hard I know, from gawking over Noah and look at our day of eats… Here’s what I ordered vs. Tim’s selection. Can you guess who ordered what? Take a wild guess…

Hope this wasn’t a head-scratcher…For lunch we went to Sushi-Jin where I ordered the rainbow roll, which was quite disappointing I must say, and Tim had the katsu don (in case you don’t know, it’s white rice topped with caramelized onions, scrambled egg, and breaded and fried pork cutlet strips). Once again, I had meal envy. For dinner, we went to Cafe Express, and I had basil pesto chicken with steamed broccoli and sweet potato fries while Tim, of course, ordered a Southwest burger with regular french fries. I’m happy to say that I was quite content with my dish this time! As for dessert, we headed next door to Ooh la la dessert boutique. I had the chocolate mint chip gelato while Tim enjoyed his salted caramel apple cupcake. My mom said my gelato tasted like toothpaste. My sister and I beg to differ. It was so delightfully refreshing!
What did Noah eat, you may wonder? For lunch he had tofu, black beans, and sweet potato. Here’s what he thought..

He wasn’t a fan..but he ate it like a trooper! So proud of him! He DOES, however, LOVE his rice crackers!

We love you, Noah darling! You have us all wrapped around your chubby little fingers!

Do you know what else is marvelous? Instagram! Ok, I know it’s been around for a while now. Heck, I had an account, too. I just never used it. Well, needless to say, I got addicted to it this weekend, hence all the instagram pictures you see here on this post. I am clearly hooked and amused ;).

I love Instagram too! Noah is adorable!!! I just want to squeeze him! 🙂
