What does this registered dietitian think about detox and believe is the best way to assist our body's incredible ability to cleanse itself? A.k.a the best detox that doesn't involve deprivation? Find out on Kura Nutrition's Blog!
As a teaser,
It involves a lot of this...
1. Stock up on wholesome, real foods!
I personally LOVE my farmers market where I know everything I purchase is in-season and super fresh!
2. Meal Prep!
If you have everything prepared and ready to go, it's just as easy to eat healthfully as it is to open up a package or rely on fast food or takeout. At first, you'll find that it's time-consuming and tedious to prep ahead. However, the key is just to START! You may decide to start out by simply prepping vegetables. Once you get the hang of it, you can start making mason jar salads, slow cooker meals, etc. Soon enough, you'll figure out what works for you and become more and more efficient at it!
I tell ya, when I first started my meal prep journey, it took me 5+ hours every Sunday. Now, it only takes me about 1-2 hours to prep for the whole week! The reward? I can enjoy healthy meals throughout the week with minimal to no cooking at all! Not only that, it saves me a lot of $$. Here are some ideas to get you started:
- Cook one recipe and transform it into 3 different meals (check out my cook once, eat thrice: Slow Cooker Sesame Orange Chicken)
- Make overnight oats for breakfast
- Make mason jar salads
3. Never say never!
That's what you do when you're on a diet. Remember, this is a lifestyle change!
