    Homemade Mango Popsicles

My kids absolutely LOVE mangoes and so I purchase a huge bag of frozen mangoes from Costco. Even then, they don't last very long at our house.

I like to add to mango yogurt, kale mango smoothie, mango pudding, mango shake, mango quinoa salad...

    And these creamy mango popsicles!

These creamy mango popsicles contain no added sugar and burst with tropical flavor. They're seriously the perfect toddler snack and are a refreshing treat for everyone at any time of the day!

All you need are two ingredients, a blender, and your favorite popsicle mold. Who could say no to that?

    Ingredients

Frozen mangoes and coconut cream on a white background.
    • Ripe mangoes - you can use fresh or frozen. If using fresh, here's how to select as well as serve mangoes to babies and kids.
    • Coconut cream - You will need canned full-fat coconut cream. It will make the popsicles thick, creamy, and delicious! You can use coconut milk if you can't find the cream, but  they won't have the same texture. You can also use plain or Greek yogurt, but then they won't have the same flavor.

    Step-by-Step Instructions

    Ingredients before and after blended.
Blended mixture poured into three different popsicle molds.
    1. Add mango chunks and coconut cream into a blender. If using frozen, be sure to thaw slightly so it's easier to process.
    2. Blend until smooth.
    3. Pour the mixture into your mold.
    4. Freeze for at least six hours, preferably overnight.

    Variations

Here are some fun add-ins to give these easy mango popsicles an extra oomph!

    • Unsweetened coconut flakes
    • Freshly squeezed lemon or lime juice
    • Other fruits - like pineapples and banana - You can decide how much you want to add in addition to mangoes. Just make sure you use 3 cups total fruits.

    Tips for Success

A close up shot of fun shaped popsicles on a white plate.
    • Taste after blending. Depending on the sweetness of the mangos, you may need to add a touch of honey or maple syrup.
    • The number of popsicles you will get from this recipe depends on your popsicle mold.
    • Also depending on your mold, you may need to run it under warm water to help get the popsicles out.

    Equipment

You will need a high-powered blender to thoroughly mix all the ingredients.

You can use any molds that you like but my kids love cute-shaped silicone popsicle molds like what you see pictured here. It just makes the whole popsicle eating experience more fun and whimsical :).

For babies and young toddlers, this small popsicle mold is the perfect size for their tiny hands and bellies.

    Storage

These healthy popsicles will keep in the freezer for a month. While you can store for longer, the texture won't be the same.

To save room in your freezer, remove from the molds once frozen solid and transfer to a freezer-safe bag.

    Frequently Asked Questions

How can I make homemade popsicles without molds?

You can pour popsicle mixture into paper or plastic cups. Insert popsicle sticks into the center of each cup and freeze until solid.

    Can I use other fruits?

The top fruits that I recommend substituting with are peaches, papaya, and pineapple. Remember to adjust the sweetness level and any additional ingredients based on the natural sweetness of the fruit you choose. You can also combine these fruits with others to create a unique, delicious flavor combinations.

Little one loved this and didn't detect riced cauliflower I added as an extra bonus. Will make again and also try different fruits like peaches.

These are delicious. I did half full fat yogurt and half coconut cream and it turned out great. We usually freeze store bought yogurt tubes, but all the stores near me have been out of stock so I decided to try this and don't think I'll go back to tubes! So easy and so much better for kiddo without the added sugar. He loves frozen mangoes too so this is a real hit. Thanks so much.
