    Healthy Mango Yogurt

There are SO many varieties of flavored yogurt at the store, and while they are convenient and delicious, just take a look at how much added sugar there is. A ton!

So what's a mama with littles to do? Make it at home! And the best part is it's incredibly easy to do using simple ingredients. Just three of them!

This mango yogurt is thick, tangy, creamy and has just the right amount of sweetness. And if you're looking for other fun flavors, try these other easy flavored yogurts!

    • Vanilla yogurt
    • Strawberry yogurt
    • Blueberry yogurt
    • Peanut butter yogurt

Add some toppings to fruit yogurt and you've got a quick breakfast or afternoon snack for your toddler and for the whole family.

    Ingredients

Mangoes, yogurt, and coconut on a white background.
    • Yogurt - I always have plain Greek yogurt on hand, but you can use regular plain yogurt or dairy-free yogurt. The consistency will just be thinner. I also recommend getting full-fat yogurt (4% or 5%) especially for young kids. Fat plays a critical role in optimal brain development.
    • Mangoes - you can use either fresh or frozen mangoes. Most definitely use fresh when in season for best flavor.
    • Unsweetened coconut flakes - This is optional BUT I highly recommend as mango and coconut are just meant to be together.

    Step-by-Step Instructions

A four image collage showing how to make mango yogurt.
    1. Add mango and shredded coconut to your food processor or blender. If using frozen, wait at least 20 minutes so they thaw enough to be blended.
    2. Blend until smooth.
    3. In a large bowl, add the yogurt and mango puree. Stir with a spoon until well combined.
    4. Taste and add a little honey or maple syrup, if desired.

    Serving Suggestions

While delicious as is, you can invite more fun and variety simply by rotating through these toppings:

    • Fresh fruit
    • Dried fruit
    • Nuts
    • Seeds (hemp, flax, chia)
    • Granola
    • Cereal
    • Chocolate chips
    • Yogurt melts - The texture is similar to freeze-dried fruit and made with real fruit, beets or carrots, and yogurt. Use the code MIN5 for $5 off your order.
    • Peanut butter (or nut/seed butter)

You can also combine with creamy cooked oatmeal or overnight oats.

Or add a dollop to your pancakes, waffles, or baked oatmeal.

And last but not least, turn into frozen yogurt popsicles!

    Storage

Three small glass containers with yogurt.

I like to store ½ cup portions in small airtight containers. That way I can easily grab one from the refrigerator in the morning along with various toppings.

It will keep in the fridge for up to 5 days.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best mango to use for yogurt?

I most definitely recommend using fresh mango, when in season, for best flavor. But frozen mango is so convenient and will work as well. You can also use this mango jam which has added protein, healthy fat, and fiber.

Can I make this mango yogurt dairy-free?

Absolutely! Simply use any of your favorite non-dairy regular or Greek style alternatives.

    Can I freeze flavored yogurt?

You can! Although its creamy texture will change slightly once thawed, it will still be delicious. You can also add to various recipes, like smoothies and baked goods. Here's the ultimate guide to freezing yogurt along with a ton of recipes!

Can I serve this mango yogurt to my baby?

Absolutely! It will be such an easy and healthy breakfast or snack for your baby. Just be sure to leave out the maple syrup or honey. And here's everything you need to know about serving yogurt to babies.
